Tokyo, Tag-Eins-Voll, Four Quartiere

Yuki at the atelier side-window, Saturday evening 18:40, Hobonichi open, Mamiya 7II resting on the bench

First voll-tempo day back in Tokyo after the Milan-Sydney-arc. The travel-edge from yesterday's HND-arrival is gone by morning. Onibus at 09:10 with the Sumida-Ko-blend and a clean field-book spread. Naka-Meguro is full-green now, the cherry-corridor along the Meguro-gawa has finished its loud spring and dropped into the quiet summer reading.

Four quartiere in one day. Roppongi at midday for the closing-day cluster at Whitestone, Perrotin, Ota — a Korean-Japanese junior-curator at the Choi-wall in a Lemaire blazer with handschriftlich Hangul-Japanese interleave in her notebook, the kind of pin you don't argue with. Aoyama in the late afternoon, COMMUNE-courtyard, a Filipino-Japanese junior-stylist with a MARNI-Tokyo lookbook open in her hand and a loose french-braid over the right shoulder. Then back to Aobadai by 16:20 for the Watabe Pre-Brutus-Test-Shoot in his own atelier — Mamiya 7II on the Manfrotto, two frames, one Aldo Rossi 1966 first-Italian-edition and one Casabella 1983-November-Original.

Shimokitazawa Railway Festival, Bahnsteig side-wall, golden-hour vinyl-stand cluster

Shimokita in the evening for the Railway Festival Day-One. Bahnsteig pop-up cluster, Big-Love-Records side-buyer in a Kapital-Boro denim-jumpsuit holding a YMO Solid-State-Survivor-1979 original Japan-Press up to the golden-hour light. The Hauptkorridor flea-market afterwards, an Asakusa-vintage-stall co-owner with a Mutter-Großmutter-Bahia-gold-cord-necklace and a 1970s Toyota-City diaspora-cohort photo album in her hand. Eight setcards by evening, two of them mixed-heritage I had not seen before in this configuration.

Roppongi gallery closing-day mid-day cluster

Home now. Cross-legged on the bench at the side-window, the side-cut bang in the wrong place again, the Hobonichi open at today's spread. Cool blue from the window, warm amber from the floor-lamp at the left. The atelier is quieter than I remember from the Milan-week. Forty-eight setcards this KW, four new mixed-heritage vectors in the Q3-Tokyo-roster, one architect-pre-brutus werk done. Heim-Anker holds.
