Daikanyama T-Site, Friday Afternoon

Daikanyama T-Site, late afternoon, fashion-monograph aisle

Three forty. T-Site Building One, second floor, the fashion-monograph aisle. The light is white through the lattice. The room is quiet on a Friday.

Two assistants from a Shibuya casting agency are at the end of the aisle, paging through a Yohji archive book. They are not looking at faces, they are looking at silhouettes. Same brief as the morning, different room.

A woman in a charcoal Margiela coat stands at the Junya Watanabe section. Thirty-two-ish, signed. Not new, not who I am looking for today.

The interesting one is by the small-press shelf. Late twenties, bookseller-staff badge, not industry. Walks the aisle once an hour, restocks, walks back. Watches the people, not the books. I noted her, did not approach. Not a casting context, wrong room for that.

The Tsutaya cafe terrace is full. Two domestic-Japanese editors I half-know. Half-nods. Friday end-of-week.

Meguro-gawa walk back to the atelier from here, twenty minutes along the canal. Light still warm. Notebook out.
